How can I find a legit Houston Modeling Agency?
I live in Houston Texas and I am tired of getting trapped into these "model calls" where they make me pay to reserve a spot then purchase a + outfit on top of it…just to find out it is really a hostess party to sell stuff.
My son is 2 years old and I know every mom has the cutest kid. I have never thought of putting my son in modeling but on a daily basis people tell me I should. Any REAL suggestions on where I should start?

Page 713 agency has a kids division - they are the only agency I know in Houston repping kids.
Most kids work in Texas is booked through The Campbell Agency, The Horne Agency and Kim Dawson in Dallas but are you willing to drive to Dallas 3-4 times a week for casting calls even when they come up at short notice?
What you are describing is not a model call - you NEVER pay for a model call or are forced to buy any clothing.
You also have to be realistic about child modeling - personality is more important than looks, and there is very little money. 80% of kids signed to agencies, including legitimate agencies, will never be booked on a single job. And very few kids who even do get jobs are with an agency more than 18 months because their looks and personalities change quickly. A gorgeous baby isn’t always a gorgeous 2 year old. A curly haired 3 year old might have straight hair by the time he’s 5. A cooperative 2 year old could become a rambunctious 3 year old
There are millions of cute kids, but will your son allow strangers to pick him up, pose him, fix his hair, dress him and put makeup on him? If not, he won’t make it. Is he comfortable around flash photography and loud noises? Can he sit or stand still for up to 2 minutes to hold a pose - trust me VERY few kids can. Can he follow directions - not from you but from another person? To test it ask a friend (not family member) to ask your son to stay in one place and sit, stand, wave, raise his arms, laugh, smile, pretend cry, etc. If he can’t do it for your friend, he will never do it for a creative director or photographer and won’t make it a a model
Child models have the best chance of getting jobs if they have curly hair or big blue eyes - these are the two most commonly requested traits by clients. Look at most ads, catalogs, etc and count how many kids under 12 have one of these traits - probably 40% of them. Freckles and dimples are probably the next most common traits requested
