Do most modelling agencies ask you to pay for your own comp cards?
I recently had an interview with an modelling agency. The contract states that the agency will take care of my portfolio, but they can not guarantee I will get work.
I have to pay for my own headshots and comp cards–which comes up to being about 0
I also need to take care of my own wardrobe.
Should I sign the contract or just try to find another agency?

Thanks!

I'm also with an acting/modeling agency so I think I can help. First, yes you should pay for your own comp card. You said they will take care of your portfolio, which is great. A lot of agencies don't even supply that. Some make you pay for pictures (which is fine), but they will only let you get them done by a certain photographer. That's when you should leave because it is a scam. If you're getting booked to model clothes, then they get you your wardrobe. For everything else (unless they say otherwise) then you will need your own wardrobe. Also, what's the name of the agency? No agency can guarantee work, but that's a risk that you and the agency take. Really think about it before you sign because 650$ is a bit of money. If this is what YOU really want to do , then go for it. Remember, most people get rejected before even getting an interview. They saw something in us they wanted, and just the thought is great! Good luck with your decision! Hope I helped.
