A top modelling agency looked at my pics and rejected me (im a male), but said in a collective fashion that they think I am very handsome but not right for this agency and wished me luck with the future. I think they rejected me as im 5′9 and all their models are 6ft +.
But what can I read into the very handsome part? are they just saying that to soften the blow?
This was my first and last application as I was intrigued.

Hello, well i recieved a email after i posted some photos from Base Models asking me to come to London for a interview kinda thing so i mailed back asking if i would have to pay any fees for obvious reasons, as i don’t want to be scammed. He emailed back saying:
Base Models do not charge a ‘Sign Up Fee’ as we have no need to, we take a commission from jobs which our models get.
I am sure that you understand that getting into the modelling industry can have financial implications, for instance portfolio’s etc… if Base are to accept you after the meeting then we shall discuss what is going to be the best route for you to take based on where you are now and where you want to be in the future, bearing in mind that whatever we recommend we DO NOT want you having to pay extravagant amounts to be a part of the industry as you simply do not need to.
If you are accepted, you are usually given a selection of routes for you to choose from, some do not incur finances, others may require finances, for instance a portfolio or a course, ultimately it is your career and you are the one to make the decision as to what to do in the future, should you get accepted.
Does that sound about right?
How do i approch a modeling agency in london?
As i am a first time model and have never done any photoshoots or anything before, can i just turn up at a modeling agency or do i have to make an appointment? Also, do i have to bring along photos of myself that i have taken?
