Where can I find a reliable modeling agency in either NJ or NY?
I'm 16 years old, African-American, and have been wanting to model for years. Many people have told me that I should model, but I dont know where to start. Im only about 5'4 so its been hard trying to find an agency that accepts people that don't fit the exact "model requirements". If anyone knows of any, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Do most modelling agencies ask you to pay for your own comp cards?
I recently had an interview with an modelling agency. The contract states that the agency will take care of my portfolio, but they can not guarantee I will get work.
I have to pay for my own headshots and comp cards–which comes up to being about 0
I also need to take care of my own wardrobe.
Should I sign the contract or just try to find another agency?

I sent my pictures of to some modeling agency's in New York, they should have recieved them this week? I also sent some off to some agency's in london, and they should have recieved them last week. If interested how long does it take for the agency's to contact you, here in the states and overseas (guessing one will take longer than the other). And do they contact you through email or mail (post). Thanks!
